A word of welcome

The DEFLE department is the Department of French as a Foreign Language.    

A friendly team

The team of administration and teaching staff is at your service, and will help and guide you throughout your time with us.

A diverse range of programmes

You will enjoy the choice of a varied range of language and culture courses. These classes are based on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) and are outward looking towards other French-speaking countries. You will learn French with teachers who are all specialists in teaching French as a Foreign Language (FLE), and who base their teaching on the most recent discussions in education and didactics. You will have the opportunity to participate in artistic workshops and showcase your creative talents.

Modern premises

You will study in our modern building, which has classrooms equipped with interactive whiteboards, and a newly renovated IT room.

An intercultural crossroads

You will become acquainted with students from around the world. The DEFLE department is truly an intercultural crossroads, and a hive of new encounters and discussions.

Proximity to Bordeaux, the UNESCO World Heritage Site

You will have the chance to really make the most of being near to Bordeaux, which is a unique and exceptional place. You can discover this magnificent city, with its rich history and lively and energetic student community.
