Want to improve your French this summer?
Our French as a Foreign Language (FLE) program is open to everyone: beginners and advanced learners, students and professionals alike.
Progress quickly, practice every day, and enjoy a rewarding experience! The DEFLE summer program offers a linguistic and cultural immersion where French is practiced in the heart of Bordeaux, and in classes and workshops on the Bordeaux Montaigne University campus.
The DEFLE teaching team, made up of experienced professors who teach at the university throughout the year, will be delighted to welcome you. Their active and dynamic teaching methods will help you progress rapidly thanks to their linguistic and pedagogical expertise.
- 60 hours of instruction spread over 3 weeks, with the option to register for 2 or 3 weeks,
- 15 hours of instruction in the morning,
- 5 hours of workshops over two afternoons: "Let's Take a Walk in France," "The French Revolt...", "Creative Writing...", -
One cultural outing (in Bordeaux) per week, linked to the coursework, -
One or two free afternoons during the week. -
Students are grouped by level: from beginner to advanced (a minimum level of A1 is required)
- Continuous instruction throughout the 3-week course to ensure effective learning
Teaching groups are organised according to level and ability. Teaching is oriented around the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).
In all classes, students develop their key skills in listening comprehension, oral, reading comprehension and writing.
Students are assessed by continuous assessment but they will not receive an official certificate or a diploma.
We remind you that it is important that you are insured for your stay (travel insurance, health cover, accident, damage to others).

520 euros for the first 2 weeks of courses
720 euros for the whole classes (3 weeks)
The fees include 100 euros of non refundable management fees.
You will have to take a placement test in order to know your level and for you to join the right group.
The summer course is subject to a minimum number of participants.
