Pre-registration for French day courses

Relevant public : 

  • Candidates must originally be from a country where French is neither the official nor the administrative language.
  • Candidates must hold either a qualification allowing them to register at university, or a secondary school leavers’ qualification.
  • Candidates must provide the copy of his ID, the copy of his secondary bachelor or of your diploma from university and its sworn translation in French.

Organisation and assessment : 

Classes are organised into 2 separate semesters (12 weeks per semester):

  • Semester 1: from September to December
  • Semester 2: from January to May

Total hours:  16 teaching hours per week

In all classes, students develop key skills in listening comprehension, oral, reading comprehension and writing.

From level B1 onwards, the programmes of study include a choice of classes including:

  • French for Specific Purposes (Business French, French for Tourism)
  • French and Francophone culture (civilisation, media, literature, theatre, music, art, cinema, etc.).

Evaluation is based on continuous assessment, i.e. throughout the course. The day courses lead to university diplomas (DU) from beginner to advanced level. These are not DELF/DALF diplomas. DU diplomas do not qualify holders to enrol at university.
