Placement test - DEFLE - French as a Foreign Language

Day classes: placement test

The placement test takes place on January the 14th at 8.30 at the Defle in order to place students in groups according to their level.

There are two placement tests, one for each semester. One test takes place in September, the other in January.

On the day of test, students must bring their invitation letter and proof of identity. Students may not take the placement test without these two documents.

Placement test organisation: January 2019 14th

The test for the second semester of the academic year 2018-2019 will take place on Monday 14th on January 2019 at 8.30 am at the Defle and will last from 9.00 to 12.00 am.

Placement test week: procedure

Monday 14th January 2019
  • Student welcome: Monday 14th January 2019, at 8:30am in the DEFLE department entrance hall.


  • During the morning, from 9am to 12 am, three written examinations will take place: reading comprehension (35 minutes), oral comprehension (40 minutes), and written composition (40 minutes).
Thursday 13th September 2018
  • The results of the placement test will be displayed in the entrance hall of the DEFLE department on Thursday 13th September 2018, from 3:30pm, or will be available on the DEFLE department’s website. Students will also find out the time and room oftheir group’s meeting, which will take place on Friday 14th September 2018.
Friday 14th September 2018
  • There will be a COMPULSORY meeting on Friday 14th September 2018, along with the teachers who are in charge of each level. The meeting time and room will be displayed from 3:30pm on Thursday 13th September. Timetables will be distributed at this meeting, and classes will start on Monday 17th September 2018.
