Thanks to funding from Bordeaux Métropole, the Department of French as a Foreign Language Studies (DEFLE) of the University of Bordeaux Montaigne finances the beginner French courses of ten students in exile. The PAS scheme allows students in exile to enrol in a beginner-level DUEF, while benefiting from an exemption from registration fees. It does not constitute a specific educational programme.
The aim is to enable selected candidates to begin their studies in France by preparing for the A2 level in French.
Preparation to reach the A2 level by following the courses offered by the DEFLE (see details on the dedicated page).
Face-to-face training: 16 to 20 hours of classes per week, mandatory attendance at all classes to benefit from the exemption.

2/ ELIGIBILITY VERIFICATION OF SUBMITTED APPLICATIONS
All applications will be analyzed: verification of the criteria. Only complete, finalized and eligible applications will be taken into account.
3/ CONVENING ORAL INTERVIEWS: Candidates who meet the criteria will be invited to an oral interview (verification of the level of French + motivation).
4/ SELECTION A multidisciplinary commission will meet to select the candidates eligible for the exemption for the 2026/2027 academic year.
